Our firm, in its present structure, began in 1980. Initially oil and gas law was the primary focus; thereafter, the practice expanded to include real estate transactions, foreclosures, business law, successions, wills, and estates. Oil and gas law is no longer a focus of our work, but the other areas of special attention endure.
In size, the firm consists of a single attorney and a single paralegal. Small size has its benefits and limitations: Clients always communicate with the principal of the firm--a good thing; yet, the firm must exclude work involving areas with which it has had the least experience or satisfaction. We do not, for example, accept matters involving personal injury, malpractice, or marriage litigation. Real estate, business transactions, and successions are our focus.
We enjoy the comfort and convenience of a small building in an easily accessible location. Clients park their cars 20 yards from our waiting room. Since 2005's Hurricane Katrina, our office is part of a converted residence just off Metairie Road, surrounded by banks, restaurants, and a broad array of businesses. We share our location with a tax-law specialist and a title insurer, each of whom frequently participate in portions of our firm's work.
We measure the representation of most of our clients in decades, rather than years; yet, no firm prospers unless it is open to new relationships. We welcome inquiries. If we cannot serve the needs of people who contact us, we will not hesitate to refer them to other professionals. We mean to be discriminating in the work we accept and perform the work well. "Usefulness" ranks high in the list of qualities we enjoy being associated with.
